Sofitel New York brings to New York the French art de vivre in a magnificent design blending Parisian Art Deco and 1940s Manhattan glamour. Rising 30 stories above 44th and 45th streets, with a façade inspired by the limestone buildings of the Parisian Moderne style, the hotel forms a contemporary statement of limestone and glass among the concrete giants of Manhattan. Its architecture, the work of Brennan Beer Gorman, was recognized upon the Sofitel’s 2000 opening with the Emporis Skyscraper Award for “best new skyscraper for design and functionality.”
The hotel’s interiors were designed by the renowned Parisian designer Pierre-Yves Rochon and offer a contemporary twist on Art Deco style. Rochon’s choice of furnishings and decor convey the formality of an upscale private club and the warmth of a gracious home – all with a decidedly French accent.
